Oriental Rug Care and Cleaning Service

Cleaning service for hand made oriental rugs in Miami, Bay Harbor Islands, Bal Harbour, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, and the surrounding areas.
Here are some instructions for the care and handling of your rug.  If these are followed your area rug will remain in great condition for many years.

 

Caring For Handmade Oriental Rugs

Vacuum

It is highly recommended that you vacuum your rug regularly, as needed. If your rug has fringes, be careful when vacuuming. Do not vacuum the fringes as they may pull. Vacuuming the rug regularly helps avoid moth problems.

 

Cleaning

If anything spills on the rug make sure that you remove it before it has a chance to set. Carefully blot up excess liquid with a damp paper towel, and then pour a small amount of club soda onto the soiled area. With a soft cloth, blot the stain from the outer edges inward to avoid spreading the stain (do not drag the towel along the stained area).

Depending on the amount of traffic we recommend the rugs be cleaned every two to three years.

 

Sunlight

Do not expose the rug to sunlight on a regular basis. Too much sunlight causes the colors to fade. To extend the life of your oriental carpet, turn it 180 degrees every year or two. This helps to even out your rug exposure to traffic and sunlight.Never place a plant directly on top of your Oriental carpet, or leave the carpet wet as in the case of a water spillage.Use caster cups under the legs of furniture to protect the rug. They can be found at any hardware store.

 

Padding

To enhance the life of your rug, we recommend the use of a rug pad.We recommend the use of a good quality under pad for your area rug, the padding will protect and prolong the life of your rug and also prevent it from slipping and sliding. Also a good pad provides an extra cushion to walk on.
